Fox, 8 p.m. ET The Hollywood round begins tonight – and so does the reign, at the judges’ table, of new addition Ellen DeGeneres. And as she judges the contestants, America will be judging her. Let the sniping begin. |

TCM, 8 p.m. ET Another fine film from the magical movie year of 1939, this one stars the enchanting Greta Garbo as a Russian envoy whose stiff edges are sanded by the humor and charm of playboy Melvyn Douglas. Very funny, both politically and romantically. |

ABC, 9 p.m. ET Last week’s season premiere started with a stunner (the alternate-reality line) and ended with one (the delayed revival of Sayid). This week, the focus is on Kate. Or, more accurately – given the new two-timeline approach – the focus is on Kates. |

PBS, 9 p.m. ET (Check local listings) Anyone who flies knows one interpretation of this show’s title: paying for your own meals, surcharges for baggage, and so on. But what this new edition of PBS’s best newsmagazine is all about is another interpretation entirely. CBS, 10 p.m. ET Peter (Chris Noth) gets his day in court – but Alicia is advised not to be there, partly because of some of the things that are expected to come out under oath. |

NBC, 10 p.m. ET SERIES FINALE: For the last time on this show, Jay Leno will greet his throng of adoring audience members, deliver a monologue and interview a couple of guests. Pulling out a few days earlier, this is Leno’s final prime-time outing. It’s worth watching as the latest chapter in this fascinating late-night war: How will Leno say goodbye, if at all? One thing’s for sure: He won’t be trotting out all the children born during this show’s run. After all, it lasted less than nine months. |
